Locating Articles in Databases

Finding Articles in Databases

Library databases may be accessed from the Library Homepage and then by clicking on the tab Databases.
  • To access databases in a specific subject, use the Select A Subject drop-down menu
  • You can also access databases alphabetically and via the Databases: A-Z index
 
Some databases to consider when starting your research:

Academic Search Premier -- Provides full text for more than 3,430 scholarly publications covering academic areas of study including social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, and ethnic studies.

ABI / INFORM Global -- ABI / INFORM includes in-depth coverage for over 2,860 publications, with more than 1,885 available in full text, with information about business conditions, management techniques, business trends, management practice and theory, corporate strategy and tactics, and competitive landscape.

Business Source Premier --  Business Source Premier provides full text for over 2,710 scholarly business journals covering management, economics, finance, accounting, international business and much more. This database now has datamonitor industry profiles.

Criminal Justice Collection -- Whether studying to become a lawyer or law enforcement officer, paralegal, forensic scientist or for a career in Homeland Security, this collection rises to the challenge, this collection offers more than 700 journals.

Lexis-Nexis Academic --  Full-text database of news, business, medical and legal resources, including highly specialized trade journals, leading national and international newspapers, SEC documents, state and federal statistics and case law. Allows you to search today's news for a particular company or industry.

Proquest Criminal Justice Periodicals -- This comprehensive database focuses on U.S. and international criminal justice journals, providing research support for students interested in careers in criminal justice, law enforcement, corrections administration, drug enforcement, rehabilitation, family law and industrial security.

Research Library -- Research Library provides access to full-text journals across a wide range of subject areas, including business, education, literature, political science, and psychology. The database can be customized to meet the specific needs of many different types of libraries and information centers. More than 1,900 titles are fulltext in this database.

Searching Google Scholar

When you use Google Scholar for the first time, be sure to go to Preferences and set your Library to "Pace University Library." This will enable active links to full-text articles when Pace Library can provide that access.
