Finding books on the shelf

Once you find a book in the catalog, how do you actually find it on the shelf?  If the book is listed as being in the Stacks (for both Beekman in NYC and Mortola in Pleasantville) that means the book is on the second floor and you need to go find it yourself.  To find the book, copy down the title and the call number. Call numbers look something like this:

TD885.5.G73 V53 2011

Here at Pace (as at most universities) we use Library of Congress call numbers.  You can learn more about how to use Library of Congress call numbers here.

If you ever need help finding a book don't hesitate to ask the librarian at the Information desk for assistance.  We're very happy to come upstairs with you.

Library Catalog

To find books and ebooks owned by the Pace libraries, search the library catalog.

You can also use the Quick Search box on the library home page to find books, ebooks and articles.

Pace has three main libraries:

Beekman: New York downtown campus

Mortola: Pleasantville campus

Law Library: White Plains Law School campus

If a book is located on a different campus, use the Request button to have it sent to your campus library.  The book will arrive in 1-2 business days and you will get an email when it's ready to be picked up.
