Before you put in a request, please make sure the library does not already own the material.

ILLiad and ConnectNY are two systems we use to help you gain access to the resources you need.

If we do not have the book you need in one of our libraries, you should first check the ConnectNY catalog.  If the item is unavailable at one of the ConnectNY member libraries, you can request the item through ILLiad, where we use a vast network of libraries.

What's the difference?

  • ConnectNY is a local consortium operating within New York State. ILLiad draws from libraries all over the world.
  • In ConnectNY, you can see immediately whether a book is available and where. In ILLiad, the library staff does the searching.
  • In ILLiad, you can also request articles, DVDs, dissertations, theses, and other materials. In ConnectNY you can only request books.
