WRDS: Wharton Research Data Services

Wharton Research Data Sservices (WRDS) is online platform that provides access to analytics and historical financial and accounting data for corporations and banks, historical economic data and more.

Content & Coverage  

WRDS Data is compiled from vendors such as Audit Analytics, Compustat-Capital IQ, Eventus, NYSE, CRSP, and a wide varierty of public sources such as Federal Reserve Bank Report, Farma French Portfolios & Factors, Macro Finance Society, and Federal Judicial Center and more. 

• Go to the WRDS website - http://wrds.wharton.upenn.edu and click on the link "Register" on the upper-right corner. Fill out the Account Request Form using your Pace email adress. 

• The campus WRDS Representative (Thomas Miliano at tmiliano@pace.edu) will email you instructions for logging into WRDS. This is part of our Authentication Process to ensure that no one outside of Pace attempts to receive an account. 

WRDS can be used to retrieve historical data: 

• Historical financial and accounting data for corporations and banks (CRSP/Compustat Merged), or historical earnings forecasts and ratings (CRSP/Compustat Ratings, Thomson-Reuters), or historical stocks and indexes prices (CRSP datasets) and more.

• Historical data for any number of companies, including the option to upload a custom list of company codes, e.g. tickers, CUSIPs, etc. in .txt file format (one code per line), or to run search against the entire database.
