Recommended Databases

These databases are recommended for you to use to find articles for your literature review:

  • In PubMed, search the "MeSH Database" to explore subject headings.
  • Search Tip: on the PubMed main page, under the search box click "Advanced" to build your search step-by-step
  • In CINAHL, click the "Suggest Subject Terms" checkbox to explore subject headings.
  • In Health Source: Nursing/Academic, click "Subjects" to explore subject headings.
  • In Nursing & Allied Health, use the "Subject Guide Search" to explore subject headings.
  • In Google Scholar, be sure to review items closely to determine if they are journal articles.

"Search for Item"

When you find an article listed in a research database, and the article is not immediately available to read, use the Search for Item button to search all of Pace's holdings (print and electronic) to see if we have full text.

  • If we do have the full-text of the article in another Pace database, a link to the article will display
  • If we do NOT have the full-text of the article in another Pace database, a message that instructs you to request the article using our ILLiad Interlibrary Loan service will display
    • Logon using your Pace credentials to place your request.
    • Articles (scanned pdf files/photocopies from journals and magazines) usually take 24-72 hours to arrive. You will receive the article electronically through your ILLiad account.
