Open Educational Resources (OER)

OER Badging

This badge will be awarded to Pace employees that complete the required modules as listed in the Open Educational Resources (OER) Badging program. Earners of the Open Educational Resources Badge will demonstrate proficiency in defining and describing OER characteristics; describe methods on how OER can be used in teaching and learning; provide an understanding for OER Creative Commons (CC) licensing; and provide methods for the adoption and integration of OER materials into University courses.

The course takes about 3-4 hours to complete and can be done asynchronously online over a two-week period.
When you’re ready to take the course please reach out to Greg Murphy and David Almodovar so we can enroll you in the course.  The course is available year-round and can be taken over any two-week period.

It is divided into 4 modules focusing on identifying, creating, and publishing open educational resources.
Only one module will be available at first but the other modules will open sequentially as a previous module is completed.
The ultimate goal after completing the module is to have created an OER assignment or activity that might fit in well with one or more of the courses that you teach.

We are so excited that you have reached out to us about this course as we work together to help lower students’ educational costs.
