Digital Humanities

Digital Humanities utilizes technology to examine traditional humanities fields which include art, music, architecture, and literature.

For instance, a digital humanities project could involve uploading a book's text into a computer program that counts the frequency of different words and phrases. Analyzing these word counts can provide insight into the author's perspectives and the cultural context when the book was penned. By leveraging computing power to study the human record, digital humanities uncovers new knowledge about our history and culture. We are committed to providing robust support to scholars in their data curation methods and research endeavors, thereby promoting the growth and advancement of this field.

Our role entails actively seeking out opportunities and fostering collaborations for grant-funded projects to advance and promote the Digital Humanities at Pace University.

By leveraging these partnerships, we strive to facilitate innovative initiatives that push the boundaries of scholarship, technology, and interdisciplinary collaboration in the digital realm.
