UNV101 Library Orientation Activity


The Library Orientation at Birnbaum Library

UNV101 classes at the New York City campus are required to complete the Birnbaum Library Orientation Activity. 

The activity takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete and you will receive a certificate of completion.

Collaborative Learning Room & Study Spaces at Birnbaum Library:

  • Visit the Collaborative Learning Room (CLR) on the 2nd floor of the library for group study, computer access, and more
  • Quiet and group study spaces are located on the first and second floors of the library, with silent study spaces available on the second floor

Access, Borrowing, and Circulation:

  • Visit the Circulation Desk on the first floor of the library to check out materials including books, calculators, laptops and more
    • Students for four weeks. The policy on reserve items varies; inquire at the Circulation Desk (typically you can have reserve materials out for 2 -3 hours at a time)
    • DVDs and videos may be borrowed for five days with no renewals.
    • Periodicals (newspapers and magazines) and reference books don't circulate.
    • Students are allowed to borrow up to 15 items at a time.
