UNV101 Library Orientation Activity

 

The Library Orientation at Beekman Library

All First-Year Students on the New York City campus are required to complete the The First-Year Student's Introduction to Library Research. The online tutorial takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete, and you will receive a Certificate of Completion that should be submitted to your UNV101 Instructor in Classes.

Resources & Services at Beekman

 

Quiet & Group Study Spaces at the Beekman Library:

  • Visit the 5th Floor of the Beekman Library for reservable group study rooms and access to our browsable print book collection!
  • Quiet and silent study spaces are availabile on the 5th floor of the library. 

Access, Borrowing, and Circulation:

  • Visit the Circulation Desk on the 4th floor of the library to check out materials including books, calculators, laptops and more
    • Students may borrow print books for four weeks. The policy on reserve items varies; inquire at the Circulation Desk (typically you can have reserve materials out for 2 -3 hours at a time)
    • DVDs and videos may be borrowed for five days with no renewals.
    • Periodicals (newspapers and magazines) and reference books don't circulate.
    • Students are allowed to borrow up to 15 items at a time.

Interlibrary Loan:

  • Can't find the book you need? Need an article but don't see the full text available? Interlibrary Loan can help!
  • Request books, articles and more from libraries worldwide using Interlibrary Loan.
