Pace Library's Collection Development Policy

Collection Assessment 

     The Library continually assesses collections to meet users' changing needs. This process involves regularly reviewing user requests, curriculum changes, usage statistics, age of materials, lost/damaged items, and budget availability. Both quantitative data (such as circulation statistics and reports from collection analysis tools) and qualitative feedback (surveys, interviews, etc.) provide insights into collection gaps or areas needing improvement. 

     By analyzing emerging needs and budget limitations, we can make strategic decisions about adding new resources, updating existing holdings, deselecting obsolete materials, and acquiring core titles. This multidimensional, ongoing assessment process enables evidence-based collection development tailored to our community's evolving requirements.
